The University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and Bocconi University’s SDA Bocconi School of Management have announced a new partnership for a Global Executive MBA.

The two business schools already share a long-standing relationship and now students will be able to earn both an MBA from Rotman, and a Global Executive MBA from SDA Bocconi, leaving the program with two credentials under their belt.

Program benefits

Students who decide to study for the Rotman-SDA Bocconi Global Executive MBA will benefit from the expertise and perspectives of both a leading European and a leading North American business school, both of which are located in international business hubs.

The program promises to have a highly personalized focus on leadership development and will introduce students to a global network of exceptional managers, executives and thought-leaders.

Moving with the times

Through the new program, students will be able to study at seven international business centers, including the universities’ home cities of Milano, a dynamic center for manufacturing and finance, and Toronto, Canada’s multicultural innovation hub and financial hub.

The partnership therefore demonstrates a step forward in the world of business for Rotman and SDA Bocconi’s Global Executive MBA programs.

At each institution respectively, students will earn insights into the industries and sectors each school boasts expertise in, specifically food and beverage, luxury brands, and automotive manufacturing at Bocconi, and fintech, risk management, and healthcare and life sciences at Rotman.

What the schools say

Professor Brian Golden, Vice-Dean, MBA Programs at the Rotman School, who is also the Sandra Rotman Chair in Health Sector Strategy at the University of Toronto and the University Health Network said: “By investing in this dual GEMBA program, participants will transform their strategic and operational capabilities while gaining the practical tools, creative insights and hands-on experience they need to accelerate their journey toward senior leadership.”

Ferdinando Pennarola, an Associate Professor of the Department of Management and Technology at Bocconi University and the Director of the SDA Bocconi Global EMBA program said: “The program will expand each participants’ global understanding and business skills as it is delivered through a dynamic blend of classroom discussions, convenient self-paced learning and valuable interactions with leading businesses around the globe.”

Success for graduates

The global community of classmates will ensure graduate are well-connected and able to benefit from the international alumni networks at both schools.

The partnership further builds on a fruitful relationship, as SDA is the leading School of Management in Italy. It has established itself as a European leader in management education and is one of the few to have earned triple-threat accreditation – EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB – meaning it is among the global elite of business schools.

Rotman-SDA Bocconi Global Executive MBA program’s first application deadline is February 11, 2019, with classes beginning in October 2019.
